Clay update

Added some new clay images:

Welcome to 2005

Toys:

• I finally got an embossing gun for use with Polymer clay. I had a problem with a sculpture I did for a friend and the embossing gun made the whole process much easier.

• I got a Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra MP3 player for XMas. 60gig of MP3's ready to go. I just wish I had a Car stereo that had an audio input that was compatible.

• I also got a great present from Lisa. It Made Sense at the Time: Selected Sketches by Ursula Vernon

• My friend Eric got me The Dark Knight Returns and The Watchmen. Awesome comics!

We are working on a redesign for the website again. Not sure what the new site is going to look like yet, but the code will most likely be Java. Don't expect it to happen quick. Hopefully, we will be able to phase in bits and pieces over the next month or two. It really all depends on me getting off my duff and doing the work.

Clay

I did my first clay covered pens today. Nothing fancy, but I like them.

It was a pleasant stay, but now I'm back from temporary sanity

I finished Doom 3 this weekend. I'm glad I took my time with it. It was a really fun game. Now I'm looking forward to playing Halflife 2.

I'm working with the Doom 3 editor now, for me this is almost more fun than playing the game. I think I'm going to make my own multiplayer map.

I spent some time working with Polyclay this weekend. I worked on a couple of covered eggs, some beads, and a sculpted relief from some images of Mayan rulers in their elaborate head dresses. I want to do more of this kind of work. I have always been fascinated with Mayan and Aztec art.

I need to do some more sanding, and then I'll put a few pictures up.

Update: Here is a picture of the Mayan inspired piece I did.

Got a great Polymer Clay book Creating Fantasy Polymer Clay Characters by Dinko Tilov . If you are interested in fantasy characters you should check it out.

The Matrix Revolutions comes out today. Gonna pick my copy up on the way home from work.

Hope to see Hellboy tonight or tommorrow. Looks like its going to be a fun movie.

Working from Home

Updated the clay page with more pictures. I am very happy with this latest Dinko inspired dino. It is just so much fun making this stuff.

I have gotten so much work done the last few days. I always worry about working from home, because of all the possible distractions. These last two days have been great.

Just updated the clay page with more pictures. I still haven't tried any sanding. I need to get some wet-dry sandpaper and see what kind of damage I can do.

Clay under my fingernails

Just updated the clay page with some new pictures. I've been messing with Polymer clay so much lately that my hands are hurting. I made a clay wizard that I think turned out pretty well. I still have alot to learn about polyclay, but I'm really starting to enjoy it. The cool thing about polyclay is that after you bake it, its just like plastic. You can keep the things you make forever.

Online Games and Hobbies

I canceled Planetside and Starwars Galaxies. Both games got boring after a while. However, I started playing Everquest again. It can get boring also, but I so far I'm having fun with playing. I have invested so much time in EQ that my character is pretty flexible. I can only hope that EQ2 has the same depth as EQ. Galaxies was nice to look at, but it just didn't have that something extra to make me keep playing.

I have also been messing with Polymer Clay again. I have so many hobbies that I feel guilty spending money on this one. I really want to buy a bunch of tools and equipment to make things easier. I just hope I'm able to stay interested in it long enough to justify the cost.

The Babylon 5 Season 3 box set comes out today.

Being Sick Is Not Fun.

I don't know what I had, but it kicked my ass. It was either some sort of Intestinal Flu or possibly Food Poisoning. I'm still weak, but my system is getting back to normal.

Last week I had the pleasure of watching most of the demo movies for HalfLife2. This is going to be an amazing game. Doom3 is going to have a hard time impressing me after I play HalfLife2. I'm starting to get back into Polymer Clay again. It is a real shame that the only local Guild is based in Ashville.
